Always, Yearning

I've always wanted to do a poem video, you know where there are words set to a particular piece of music. Always thought that I would try it with a Debussy or Satie piece but inspiration comes in strange ways, taking you by surprise and catalyses you into action.

So a new friend introduced this song to me by a group called Sigur Ros. I was fascinated the first time I heard it. It was a rainy day and it evoked all kinds of feelings and brought forth a memory of a poem from the not too distant past - of a poem I once wrote. A very short one and I put it up here once before. It triggered my poetic juices.

That very night, I sat in front of my desktop, listened to it and expanded on that very poem, to suit the music, the lows, the highs and the in betweens. It was kind of a surreal experience, almost like an out-of-body experience or perhaps I exaggerate. Scoured MSOffice online for some suitable pictures and the vid below was the result. I think I slept at 3 a.m. Well, a couple of my friends liked it. One wanted to do a poem in response - to literally answer my of course supposed to be rhetorical questions! If she ever does it, I'll post it here.

In the meantime, enjoy.
