I was walking back home from the bus stop at Ubi back to my block. As usual at the carpark entrance, I chose to walk (as many others) on this short trail. Just a couple of metres of well-trodden ground. It felt good, feeling the little pebbles under the soles of my sandals. The compact sand connecting me somehow in some miniscule way to the earth.
For that couple of minutes, I imagine myself walking in some kampung area. And if I close my eyes, I dream of walking barefoot in some wide expanse of grass and fields.
Sometimes I wish I were living in a remote seaside town or countryside.
The world cannot be merely Singapore.
Today's soundtrack to my life (ok my dreams to be precise).
Eva's one of my favourite singers.
The purity of her voice just gets to me.
Her take on Sting's Fields of Gold.

Ranting
A lot’s happened since my last update.
On May 22nd, my third niece was born. The delectable Falisha Qaisara.
The June hols went past featuring me laid up and feeling generally unwell for almost half of it. It’s like the body holds on during term time only to break down and give in to whatever virus it was previously fighting. I lived on my sofa for a while. It coincided with the week my mum went to Punggol to watch over my sis-in-law. So my poor brother had to swallow convalescent food. Either that or he went out for dinner ha ha. The saving point was me renting like 7 DVDs. Got a package at Video 21 at Eastpoint. Caught up on couple of movies I missed. Hot Fuzz was hilarious! And I had my 2nd viewing of Ugly Betty Season 1. My Detty-ship lives on!!
Then when Term 3 started my mum was down with bronchitis. I became a working mum for a couple weeks. Kudos to all working mums out there. What with cooking and laundry, I was knackered most nights. I was depressed seeing and hearing her cough and not being able to do much about it. Didn’t help that I was also feeling down. Didn’t help either that the kids were errrrrm testing my patience especially of late. They’re as changeable as the weather lately.
The highlight of my life recently was yes, you guessed it, Korean drama. I finished watching Tae Wang Sa Shin Gi or The Legend as it is otherwise known. Will do a separate entry about that. Too much to say and get out of my system.
Trying to get the berkah of the Rejab month but my whacked out period is irritating to say the least. Hope I’ll manage to fast, at least a couple of days, Insya-allah.
