I Am...

Our first destination for our cafe hops was the I Am… cafe. Only 5 of us could make it. A small place, so we were worried that we wouldn't get any seats. We joined the queue the moment we got there, after a bit of meandering because we couldn't figure out the address. It didn't take too long, especially as we yakked while waiting and eyeing what other patrons were having.

Azzy had already given us her recommendations, so those were on our list already. We decided that we would do the 'order a few and share share' method of sampling. A bit of a wait for the food which we tucked into as they came dish by dish.

The mains were just alright for me. Tasty but not must haves.

What I enjoyed was the virgin mojito, as you can see.

Now the cake is another thing altogether. It's their specialty dessert and I give it props. The cream was smooth but not overpowering. And the cake was super moist! I normally would avoid coloured foods but I was glad that I made an exception.

Sharing was apparently not enough for us as we felt a little peckish after. So we took a little walk and ended up at J. Co at Bugis Junction. Shared a few doughnuts and more laughs.

It was a great outing. Already looking forward to the next.

Cafe Hopping

So us AnJels have decided to get into cafe hopping. Mostly as a way to get together, beyond our quarterly birthday celebrations. You know how tough it can be. Work and family commitments take up a lot of time.

Yet, we also realise that it takes a lot of hard work and concerted effort to maintain friendships. Especially those that have spanned decades. So we'll be trying out cafes or eateries, the last Friday or Saturday of every month.

Something new for me, because I don't really fancy eating out. Home cooked food is THE best.

But I will commit to this, for it is the company I seek. And coffee ;-)
